Taleia Castell d`Encus 2012

Based in the foothills of the Pyrenees at almost 1,000m altitude, Castell d’Encus is the project of winemaker and former director of Torres, Raul Bobet. Taleia is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a splash of Semillon that is partially fermented in new French oak and has undergone a period of lees ageing. The rest of the wine was vinified in stainless steel and in the estate’s stone carved vats that date back to the 12th Century. More Sancerre than Bordeaux or Marlborough, this is a zippy, citrus-driven and mineral wine that has excellent ageing potential.
