A complex 1960 vintage whisky from the Strathisla distillery, this single malt was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail, having been matured in a first-fill sherry butt for more than 5 decades. As expected, the nose is sherried and full, with notes of cut herbs and mixed fruits. On the palate, you’ll find notes of sultanas, with a cereal sweetness and barley sugars. There are charred oak notes with a heavy smoke. Described by the producers as a ‘full-bodied Speysider’, this is a must-try whisky.
