Prior to 1987, Domaine Michel Ogier sold the entirety of its harvest to negociants and it was not really until Stéphane Ogier joined the family business in 1997 that their status really began to take off. With a complete renovation of the cellars in the early 2000s and the introduction of several new cuvées, they are now considered amongst the finest producers in the region.
Le Passage is made from two parcels of Syrah located in Malleval and Limony with vines planted between the mid-1980s and early 2000s. Deep and dark in colour, the nose gives off wonderful scents of black fruits, cracked black pepper, liquorice, wild herbs and stoney minerality. On the palate it is silky and seamless, with sumptuous texture, effortless freshness and a long, spice-infused finish. A classic!
