Spottswoode Estate was created in 1882 but it was only a century later in 1982 that Mary and Jack Novak released their first Cabernet Sauvignon. Since that inaugural vintage they have cemented a reputation as once of the finest producers in California, renowned for their incredibly high quality and remarkably consistent Bordeaux blends.
This is the flagship wine and is their ultimate expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from their organically farmed estate vineyard. From the lower-yielding 1999 vintage, this is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon with 5% Cabernet Franc. It is deep, structured and broody, with lovely tension and balance.
