Solaia Marchesi Antinori 2015

Solaia, distinct from its Sangiovese-based sibling Tignanello, is crafted primarily from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape on the same estate. The initial two releases in 1978 and 1979 were exclusively blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The incorporation of Sangiovese occurred in subsequent vintages as Marchesi Antinori refined the wine. The 2015 vintage boasts an exceptional nose, combining blackberries, violets, and leather. On the palate, it unfolds with successive waves of concentrated black fruits, supported by precise acidity. This is a sleeping giant of a wine.
