In 2002, Laurent Dassault of Château Dassault purchased the neighbouring estate of Château La Fleur with the intention of merging the two. However, the decision was made to allow La Fleur to remain its own vineyard and this is the second wine that they produce. 2016 was widely regarded as an exceptional vintage for St-Émilion with both early-drinking appeal and good potential longevity.
