Schrader Cellars Old Sparky Cabernet Sauvignon is a selection of exceptional barrel lots distinguished by their remarkable individual character and greater levels of depth and richness. The 2015 is a blend of 3 clones of Cabernet from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard and aged for 20 months in Darnajou French oak barrels. It bounds from the glass with wonderfully attractive notes of cassis, black cherry, Christmas cake spices, griddled herbs, woodsmoke and liquorice. On the palate it is all-encompassing with its incredibly deep layers of spice-dusted fruit and statuesque tannin profile, concluding with a finish of remarkable persistence and complexity.
