Founded just four years ago in 2017, Jessica Saurwein is one of the most exciting new winemakers to emerge onto the South African scene with her own label wines. Focussing purely on Pinot Noir and Riesling, she makes just three wines from Elandskloof, Hemel-en-Aarde and Elgin.
2019 yielded just six barrels of Om Pinot Noir, a delightfully vibrant and lively wine produced from a single vineyard planted in 2006 in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. An incredibly food-friendly wine, this would pair perfectly with roast duck and poultry, or perhaps even savoury vegetarian dishes with aubergine or beetroot.
