Rotenberg Pinot Gris Zind Humbrecht 2018

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, one of the most recognisable names in French wine and greatest exponents of biodynamics in Alsace, has a number of parcels across the varied terroirs of Alsace and is renowned for expressing the complexity of the region through their single vineyard bottlings. Rotenberg is a north-west facing vineyard favouring the late ripening Pinot varieties with its iron rich soils which naturally produces very low yields.

The 2018 vintage is showing complexity and richness of fruit with a tense saline finish. Lemon tart and ripe pear notes are complemented by dried flowers and delicate aromas of honey with a rounded palate that has a striking freshness to it. This will be lovely to drink now but will also benefit with a few years in bottle.
