Ridge Lytton Springs Half 2017

Ridge Vineyards is one of the most revered producers in California and has been producing exceptionally high-quality single-vineyard wines since its foundation in 1962. Based in Dry Creek Valley, the Lytton Springs vineyard is home to 100 plus-year-old Zinfandel vines interplanted with Petite Sirah, Carignan and Mourvedre, and is the source of this unique field blend. Composed of 74% Zinfandel, the 2017 is inviting and generous with abundant notes of blackberry, plum, raspberry, candied violets and liquorice. Full-bodied, mouth-coating and youthfully chewy, there is admirable freshness and wonderful floral lift throughout, indicating a short spell in the cellar may do no harm at all.
