Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – or simply DRC – is the iconic Burgundy estate that produces some of the most exclusive and sought-after wines in the world. Since 1942 the domaine is co-owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. Only grand cru wines are produced here, including this Richebourg, made from a 3.51-hectare parcel. The 2002 vintage is in a great place right now, revealing aromas of Earl Grey tea, mandarin orange peel and redcurrants. On the palate, expect some cherries, mulberries, pungent herbs and well-integrated tannins.
