Ravenswood Winery began in 1976 with pioneering winemaker Joel Peterson at the helm and has forged a reputation as one of the finest producers of Zinfandel in California. The 1991 Cooke Vineyard Zinfandel is perhaps a candidate for the best release of the portfolio from that vintage. It is voluptuous and velvety with plush layers of dark fruits, smoke, earth, leather and spice.
