Ramiiisol is a tiny boutique producer of superlative Cabernet Franc in Monticello, Virginia. In the same manner as the Classico, the 2014 Riserva was wild yeast fermented and aged in large older oak vessels, but fruit comes from the estate’s two best blocks and generally offers greater heft and opulence. It is superbly endowed with decadent plum and blackberry fruit, with subtly peppery and herbal fragrance layered over the top. Tightly-wound, complex and focussed, this will require at least a little cellar aging before it displays its true calibre.
