Having worked in the revered wineries of Dominus and Rudd Estate, David Ramey established his own label in 1996 and is widely regarded as a master of Cabernet and Chardonnay due to his use of traditional, artisan winemaking techniques. The 2003 Jericho Canyon red blend is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc from a vineyard at the base of Mount St. Helena, near Calistoga. It is rich, powerful and dark, with deliciously deep and complex notes of cassis, cocao nibs, cigar smoke and spices
