The original Etienne Sauzet [1903-75] put together a estate of approximately 12 hectares and established the Sauzet name as one of the top producers in Puligny-Montrachet. The Domaine is now run by Émilie Boudot and Benoit Riffault and all the vineyards have been farmed biodynamically since 2010. This release comes from Les Folatières, a well-regarded Premier Cru vineyard where Sauzet owns a 0.27-hectare plot. The white Burgundies from 2014 are known for their purity of fruit, expressive aromatics, and precise flavours.
- Pale color. Knockout highly nuanced nose combines white peach, spices, noble Puligny herbs and flowers. The wine's superb richness is buffered by strong saline minerality and a distinctive note of powdery chalk. Finishes bone-dry and very long, with terrific purity and grip. But there's nothing hard about this beauty, as it's balanced from the start. A real essence of dry minerality.
