Owned by the French insurance company AXA since 1987, Château Pichon Baron is a Second Growth estate situated in the Pauillac appellation. Oft described as a ‘classic Pauillac’ due to its style and terroir, its Grand Vin features powerful dark fruits, and is built to age for many decades. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot, aged in 80% new French oak for 18 months. Expect notes of blueberry compote, violets and damson, with hints of flint and liquorice. Best enjoyed from 2030 onwards.
