Peter Michael Winery was established in 1983 and Mon Plaisir is the original Chardonnay bottling, produced in every vintage since 1987. Though the fruit source has changed over the years, it now uses fully estate-grown fruit from the Mon Plaisir Vineyard in the Knights Valley AVA, in Sonoma County. The 2016 is an intense, bold and mouthfilling release with hints of tropical fruits, white peach, citrus zest, honeysuckle and flinty minerality. Quietly intense, this is not a riotous blockbuster release but is magnificently endowed with all the seductive charm one comes to expect from Peter Michael Chardonnay.
