Though famous for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Peter Michael Winery also produces a high-quality Bordeaux-style Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend with fruit from the high elevation Les Pavots Vineyard in Sonoma County. The 2019 is a 100% barrel-fermented blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon that was aged ‘sur lie’ for 8 months with bi-weekly bâtonnage. Though bold and intense with rich tropical and citrus fruit, it is a precise, mineral-driven and elegant wine, with many years of potential cellaring.
