Located within the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer was formerly a part of the d`Issan estate and derives its name from Major General Charles Palmer of the British Army, who acquired the property in 1814. Uncommon for the Médoc, Château Palmer typically incorporates an equal measure of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in its blend, complemented by a small proportion of Petit Verdot. The 1978 vintage for Bordeaux was largely excellent, with Margaux delivering elegant, classic wines.
