Located within the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer was formerly a part of the d`Issan estate and derives its name from Major General Charles Palmer of the British Army, who acquired the property in 1814. Uncommon for the Médoc, Château Palmer typically incorporates an equal measure of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in its blend, complemented by a small proportion of Petit Verdot The 1998 vintage embodies the quintessential Palmer style, characterized by an exceptionally concentrated nose featuring black currant, mint, cassis, chocolate, and coffee notes. The tannins are skilfully integrated, and the palate showcases an abundance of black fruits, complemented by mixed herbs.
