Jayson Pahlmeyer planted his vineyard in 1981 using “suitcase clones” allegedly smuggled from France. His founding philosophy was to create a “California Mouton” and he has undoubtedly secured his winery’s reputation as one of the finest producers of Bordeaux varieties in Napa. This is a wonderfully full-bodied, rich and flamboyant Merlot now at peak maturity.
