2013 Ornellaia is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. An increased proportion of Merlot delivers stacks of sumptuous black fruit, pipe tobacco and spicy fragrance. The palate is intense but elegant, delivered on a tapestry of youthful but fine tannins. Great ageing potential.
