Ornellaia 1991 is a full-bodied `Supertuscan` Bordeaux blend from the Antinori family. Since the foundation of the estate in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori, Ornellaia has shown remarkable consistency and is now rightly considered one of the great Italian red wines. Famed for this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Supertuscan wine (blended with a smaller percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot), Tenuta dell`Ornellaia is located near Bolgheri in Tuscany, on the Mediterranean coast. Renowned winemaker Axel Heinz has been in charge of the cellar since 2002.
