The 1979 vintage marked the first release of Opus One, a joint venture between pioneering Californian winemaker Robert Mondavi and the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The 1994 vintage is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot and 1% Malbec, aged for 18 months in new French oak. Showing a profound depth of colour, the 1994 Opus One has a rich, full body with supple, velvety tannins and intense aromas of liquorice and spice. Sold in glorious large format.
