Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Henri Gouge is a family-owned domaine established in the 1920s. Henri Gouges [1889-1967] was something of a pioneer, the first Burgundian to bottle his own wine to guarantee provenance and quality. This particular release is part of their négoce portfolio and hails from ‘Les Saint-Georges’, one of the most highly regarded of Nuits-Saint-Georges`s 41 Premier Cru sites. The 7.5-hectare vineyard is planted exclusively to Pinot Noir, which is expressed here as a complex and deep red wine.
