A great independently bottled 2YO Rye from the New York Distillery Company. This release has been aged in ex-Applejack casks, which contributes a distinct ripe orchard fruit note on the nose. Cracked black pepper and citrus oil are joined by liquorice and tobacco on palate before a zesty and sweet finish that comes across more like a Cognac or Scotch than a US Rye.
