Musigny Georges Roumier 2006

Based in Chambolle-Musigny, Domaine Georges Roumier is a leading Burgundy producer with approximately 12 hectares under vines. The domaine was formed in 1924 by George Roumier who at the time farmed his own vines but also worked as vineyard manager for Comte Georges de Vogüé. Since 1992 the estate has been overseen by the talented Christophe Roumier, the 3rd generation family winemaker. This particular cuvée is the domaine’s Musigny Grand Cru, one of the most mythical and collectable wines from Burgundy. The 2006 vintage offers aromas of raspberries, crushed blackberries, hints of mint and sous bois. On the palate, ripe red fruit and caramel notes stand out, all wrapped up by firm tannins and a lovely, long finish.
