de Vogüé Musigny 2002 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Grand Cru climat of Musigny in the Chambolle-Musigny commune of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 1450, Domaine Comtes Georges de Vogüé owns and makes wine from some of the most desirable vineyards in Burgundy, with significant holdings in the Grand Crus of Musigny & Bonnes-Mares. Their wines are complex and long-lived, and considered by many among the finest in the Cote d`Or. On the 2002 Musigny. "Brilliant ruby. Expansive and very open on the nose with a fantastic array of spices, flowers and fruit aromas leading to very serious, exuberantly fresh and impressively deep flavours that also have a wonderfully tactile texture to them. But as it usually is, it`s not the raw power that impresses but rather the incredible combination of mind boggling complexity coupled with perfect balance and this just dances across the palate yet stains it with notably ripe pinot extract. The finish is all silk and velvet but with a deeply buried, very firm and chewy backbone of tannins that lasts for minutes. This is greatness in the making. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes." Burghound, 2007
