Mullineux Old Vines White 2020

Mullineux is a highly focused family winery based near the village of Riebeek Kasteel, in the Swartland region of South Africa. The 2020 Old Vines White is a characterful blend of 65.5% old vine Chenin Blanc, 17.5% Clairette Blanche, 5.2% Grenache Blanc, 4% Viognier, 4.7% Semillon Gris and 3.1% Verdelho. A stellar expression of the texture and complexity of the Swartland, in 2020 this leads to a floral fragrant wine, with crushed stones, cinnamon, enticing nectarine and flinty focus. The full, layered palate is balanced by a vibrant acidity, flavours of yellow grapefruit and hints of aromatic spice. Best served at 10 to 12°C, this wine will show optimally when decanted in the first 3 years after bottling.
