One of the most famous estates in the world, Château Mouton Rothschild is located in Pauillac, around 30 miles north-west of Bordeaux. 1953 is often considered a high-quality vintage for the region, with particularly good wines made on the Left Bank that continue to offer charm, elegance, beautiful aromatics and silken texture. Now nearing peak maturity, this wine should be decanted to remove sediment and served shortly afterwards.
The 1953 label is slightly different in that it did not have an artist commissioned for its design. Instead, it has a commemorative label to celebrate the 100 years since Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild signed the contract which formerly created Château Mouton Rothschild.
