When considering which Burgundy cru is the greatest for white wine, Montrachet stands alone in terms of quality, complexity and longevity. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s holdings consist of three parcels in the Le Montrachet lieu-dit in Chassagne-Montrachet, totalling just 0.68 hectares surface area with vines that are, on average, 50 years of age. Of the eight grand cru wines that DRC makes, this has the smallest production and is, therefore, often the rarest bottling. The 2007 vintage is crisp and linear, with baked apple and citrus notes, accompanied by delicate mineral and floral notes.
