Chateau Montelena is an iconic Napa estate and undoubtedly helped place California on the fine wine map when it took out one of the top prizes at the 1976 ‘Judgement of Paris’. 2013 was an excellent vintage and this is a particularly fine release of the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers up sensational notes of cassis, black raspberry, exotic spices, bay leaf, cedar and subtle vanillin oak. Rich, concentrated and mouth-filling, this has the intensity, depth and pedigree to cellar particularly well.
