Chateau Montelena is one of the oldest and most illustrious Napa estates and undoubtedly helped place California on the fine wine map when it took out one of the top prizes at the 1976 ‘Judgement of Paris’. The 1995 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is dense, powerful and rich, with notes of cassis, blueberry compote, baking spices and tilled earth. This is now nearing its peak drinking phase and will benefit from decanting.
