Meursault Charmes Pierre Yves Colin Morey 2020

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault Charmes 2020 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Charmes in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate was formed in 2001 when Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey – both from Burgundy winemaking families – joined forces. Today they produce wines from approximately 13 hectares of vineyards, situated in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, from where this Premier Cru release hails. "A more reserved though better layered nose reflects elegant notes of citrus zest, exotic tea, white peach, Granny Smith apples and just sliced fennel. There is outstanding tension and volume to the utterly delicious middle weight plus flavours that deliver terrific persistence on the mineral-driven finish. This could use slightly better depth and there is a hint of warmth but the intrinsic class of a first-rate Charmes is on display." Burghound, 2022
