Marcassin was established in 1991 by the legendary winemaker, Helen Turley. An incredibly influential figure on the Californian wine scene over the last 30 years, she has either made the wine or consulted for some of the region’s greatest wineries, including Peter Michael, Colgin and Bryant.
2009 is one of the final vintages of Three Sisters Chardonnay. It is a cuvée no longer made by Turley as the fruit is now used solely by Martinelli Winery, from whom she used to purchase the fruit. Renowned for its huge layers of complexity and wonderful ageing capacity, this should now be approaching somewhere near its peak.
