Marcassin Alexander Mountain Upper Barn Chardonnay 1999

Having worked at some of the greatest Napa wineries and subsequently forged a reputation as one of the regions most formidable winemakers, Helen Turley founded her own tiny boutique winery, Marcassin, in 1991. The Upper Barn Vineyard Chardonnay (formerly known as Gauer Ranch) from 1999 is deliciously mature and offers up sensationally complex notes of dried tropical fruits, honey, toast, butter and roasted nuts. It is rich, concentrated and intense, but supremely well balanced and refined.
