In 1996, as part of Private Eye`s 35th-anniversary celebration, Macallan was commissioned to produce a whisky accessible to the publication`s readers. Although the whisky carries no age statement, it includes spirit from a cask distilled in 1961, coinciding with Private Eye`s establishment. The remaining blend comprises various Macallan sherry oak casks, contributing to the whisky`s rich colour. This limited edition was restricted to 5,000 bottles.
