Littorai Charles Heintz Chardonnay 2019

Small, family owned and operated winery Littorai is run by Heidi & Ted Lemon. The Charles Heintz vineyard lies at 800 feet elevation on a gently rolling plateau one half mile east of Occidental and seven miles west of the Pacific Ocean. Littorai was the first winery to bottle a single vineyard Chardonnay from this vineyard with the 1994 vintage and has been sourcing the same seven rows (farmed organically) ever since. The 2019 vintage is characterised by aromas of peach, lemon zest, pineapple, vanilla bean, roasted hazelnuts, together with notes of wet gravel, allspice and Meyer lemon. There is plenty of richness on the palate which is beautifully balanced by refreshing acidity.
