L`Ermita Alvaro Palacios 2007

Alvaro Palacios is undoubtedly one of the most important winemakers in Spain and his pioneering efforts in Priorat have helped secure the regions reputation for being able to produce fine wines of profound character and quality. L’Ermita is his flagship wine made from 100% Garnacha sourced from a single 70-year-old vineyard. The 2007 is a wonderful release with incredibly complex notes of black cherry, wild strawberry, bramble, woody herbs, anise and slatey minerality. Concentrated, silken in texture and supremely elegant, this is an excellent wine ready for consumption but has the capacity to age for at least another decade.
