Leoville Barton 1800cl 2016

Château Léoville Barton is a Saint-Julien 2ème Cru Classé estate renowned for producing old-school wines that are intensely structured and often require extended cellaring before entering their prime drinking window. 2016 was a stunning vintage for Bordeaux and this is an incredibly strong release composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. It is rich and intense, with wonderful notes of crème de cassis, liquorice, tobacco, damp earth, cedar and smashed stones. Though classically chewy with tannin and firm in structure, this is one of the seductive young Léovilles in many years. Optimal drinking will be between 2025 and 2060.
