Le Serre Nuove is the second wine of Tenuta dell’Ornellaia conceived to showcase the estate’s excellent quality Merlot and provide a wine that could be drunk slightly earlier. This is a blend of 57% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon from the notoriously hot 2011 vintage. Winemaker Axel Heinz described it as a “dense, concentrated wine yet at the same time elegant and smooth.”
