Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Fontaine-Gagnard is a family-run Domaine with approximately 12 hectares of vineyards. It was formed in 1985 by Laurence Gagnard and her husband Richard Fontaine after Laurence inherited part of Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange. This release comes from the Grand Cru Le Montrachet, where the estate owns a tiny 0.08-hectare plot. The winemaking methods at Fontaine-Gagnard are traditional, including hand-picking and natural yeasts. Their white wines are typically bottled after one year in barrel.
