Château Lafleur-Gazin is an 8.5-hectare estate in Pomerol that has in recent years made huge strides forwards in quality and consistency. The 2016 is a wonderfully juicy, voluptuous and effortlessly balanced release composed of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. It has plenty of youthful appeal and, indeed, can be consumed young if decanted, but there is also much to suggest it will cellar well for between 10 and 15 years.
