La Jota is set high in the Howell Mountain AVA and current winemaker Chris Carpenter is consistently producing exceptional Bordeaux blends from a winery that dates back to 1890. From the epic 2013 vintage, this blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc with Petit Verdot and Malbec is absolutely sensational. It is plush, broad-shouldered and powerful, with wonderfully pure notes of sweet cassis, liquorice, camphor, graphite and spices. Statuesque and long, this has the potential to age gracefully for 20 years.
