La Garde Magnum 2019

Château La Garde is one of the finest wine producers in the Pessac-Léognan appellation but slightly under the radar. The estate, which has been owned by Maison Dourthe since 1990, boasts a vast vineyard of 50 hectares located on a superb gravel ridge. The 2019 vintage is a blend composed of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 30% new. The wine displays an elegant aroma profile, including black fruit and graphite notes. On the palate, the fruit attack gives way to a chalky minerality and cooling minty finish.
