The 2019 La Croix du Casse has a light bouquet with undergrowth and tobacco notes rather dominating the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, rustic and peppery, showing a little dryness on the finish. I would drink this over the next few years. - Neil Martin
Château la Croix du Casse is a Right Bank estate situated on the southern edge of the plateau of Pomerol, owned by the Castéja family since 2005. This is the 2019 vintage of its Grand Vin, a Merlot-dominant expression presented here in a half bottle format. Berry fruit aromas and flavours are at its core, supported by an excellent tannin structure that will give the wine a long life. Although still very young, the wine is approachable now.
