John Kongsgaard first wines were released in 1996 and has forged a reputation as a prodigiously talented producer of world-class Chardonnay. The Judge is the flagship single vineyard wine and the 2016 is an astonishing release. Though initially quite coy, it opens to reveal immensely complex and concentrated layers of crème brulée, white peach, citrus juice, cinnamon, honey and blossom. It is full-bodied, rich and intense with quite remarkable energy and drive. A multi-sensory experience that is not quickly forgotten.
