J`Noon Red 2017

J’Noon is a joint venture between Kapil Sekhri of Fratelli wines and Jean-Charles Boisset who sought to produce India`s finest wine. The name is a French take on the Urdu word “Junoon”, which means “passion”. 35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Petit Verdot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. The Petit Verdot, Marselan and Sangiovese grapes give the wine its deep purple colour and flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry, while the Cabernet Sauvignon contributes a freshness to the blend. This wine has structured tannins, a full body and notes of spearmint and graphite, supported by a backdrop of cedar and fresh tobacco. The finish is long and silky.
