J Bouchon Carignan Vigno 2016
Julio Bouchon is a fourth-generation winemaker in the Maule Valley, Chile. With an in-depth technical approach and innovative winemaking, he is both preserving the historic character of the region and also pushing the boundaries with distinctive, terroir-driven wines. Vigno is a celebration of Carignan, made in collaboration with growers committed to cultivating old vines under strict rules regarding the designation of origin. This is from two specific blocks in the coastal area of Cauquenes and offers vivid notes of wild black fruits and crushed minerals. Soft, juicy and elegant, it is wonderfully food friendly and can be drunk either young or with bottle age.
