Imperial Gordon & MacPhail 1996

Founded by Thomas MacKenzie in 1897, Imperial Distillery was situated in Carron on the banks of the river Spey. The distillery closed in 1998 and has been subsequently demolished. This is a rare vintage single malt distilled on their premises in 1996 and released independently by Gordon & MacPhail. The nose is influenced by sherry, complemented by stones fruits and liquorice. The palate is nice and peppery, punctuated by ripe banana, orange zest and milk chocolate.
